8/17/15 was down 0.15 to 78.88. That is within the range of what the model projected but just barely. I continue to rely on the model as a handy little trading tool that helps me be on the right side of scalping the front month futures. It is of very little value for the more deferred contracts.

The six-day moving average carcass weight was down again to 209.14#. That is -3.72# year/year. Almost all of the decline in the carcass weight came from lighter weight non-packer hogs. Packer hogs were just about as heavy at yesterday.

I am still long the VVVs and have pulled of a few scalps from the long side today.

Spreads aren't moving much at all today.
