The CME component on the kill for - - -

8/14/15 was up 0.08 to 78.32. That puts the cash settlement index for the QQQs at 78.70 (Unless I made a fat finger key-stroke error). This makes this expiration trade one of the best I have had for a while. In the period leading up to the expiration it didn't look like I would have any QQQs to take to cash settlement then on the morning of expiration the model told me to get short and I loaded my boat. The closer we get to cash settlement, the more powerful the model becomes as a trading tool.

The 6-day moving average carcass weight eased to 209.36#. That is -4.20# year/year. It appears that producers are staying current in their shipments. It also appears that they have ample numbers of hogs coming along behind they ones that are currently being shipped.

It appears that some big traders were just now running stops and I bought a VVV pig at 66.15. Or maybe it is a correction and we are now headed lower.

Best wishes,

dhm
