kill for 6-19-15 was down -0.46 to 79.22. The sell-off in the NNNs this morning has them discounted to the component by 5.57. Traders are probably being spooked by the high kill rate and the low cutouts.

And they just might be right to be spooked! I went to the store Saturday night and they had their loin chops and boneless ribs at a big discount.

The six-day moving average carcass weight was steady at 212.58#. That is -2.71# year/year but up +7.19# over 2013. That, together with a high kill rate, makes for a pile of pork.
