5-2-15 kill was actually UP +0.04 to 82.23. That puts the MMMs premium to the component by 2.32. Historically there is a tendency for the Index to dip a little as we move toward expiration of the MMMs. I'm not inclined to be long the MMMs right now.

The six day moving average carcass weight firmed to 213.37#. That is down -3.02# from last year but up 7.51# over 2013! It would appear that pork production is quite high. One thing that may be firming the price of hogs is the loss of poultry because of the Avian Flu epidemic that has wiped out some mighty big produers' flocks.
