The CME component on the kill for - - -

4-24-15 was up 0.56 to 66.10 putting the MMMs premium by 14.00. That's a pretty wide "Gap" but the component keeps on adding about a half point day-after-day. A lot of "Gap" can be closed with a half-point bounce day-after-day.

The 6-day moving average carcass weight held steady at 214.48#. That's -3.14# under the same date last year but 6.08# heavier than 2013. Packer hogs are running 4.0# heavier than non-packer hogs. I think this says that packers want heavier hog.

The number of hogs scheduled today is +13.84% higher than the same date last year. I was beginning toworry that producers were running short of hogs based on the low scheduled numbers last week but they seem to be shaking loose over the weekend.

Best wishes,
