The report showed that the expansion phase of the hog cycle is still underway but it is only slightly stronger than analysts had projected prior to the report. The bearishness comes from the demand side of the equation.

Cutouts fell by 1.90 today. That hurt and I suppose it was partially driven by the high kill this week that was +11.77% year-over-year.
