Following is what I received this morning from my broker. As you can tell from his thoughts he is tired of the hog market, like a lot of us!
There’s not much to discuss right now in the hogs. We’re busy….really busy trading cattle and corn. Hogs, it would appear, have already had their day in the sun. Average live hog weights are stable at 287.7 lbs, down .2 from last year. Cutout so far on the week is slightly lower. Cash is not being aggressively bid by the ever greedy packer. They always want more margin. Futures are 100 above key support and 250 under key resistance. I’m not interested in pouring any more money into bullish option plays. I still consider the fundamentals long term bullish.
