or admitting "you don't know what they are going to do at any time" doesn't do me any good for making choices for the day. This was sure a surprise that goes to the top of the surprise list. I was waiting for something to set up but didn't realize until it was too late that it had already set up during the hour of trade before the open. I was working on other projects and was not expecting such a quick feeding frenzy in the first 15 minutes of trade. What's irritating to me is, I was sitting on a short position late yesterday, that at one point, I intended to ride into the first 60 minutes today with a breakeven stop. Oh what could have been.
I had a BIG ONE on the line and cut it loose out of respect for the Prime Directive. My first reaction was a good lecture to the Prime Directive rule about the BIG ONE I threw back because of rules. When I was done with my emotional lecture, the Prime Directive calmly reminded me of the many countless times THE RULES have saved ego filled head and rear end. My final thought after rational thought had gained control---------that's not the last BIG ONE, there's more out there just waiting for the growth spurt.
