10/9/15 up 0.125 to 74.83. That is right in line with what the model projected and it puts the VVVs at a discount of -0.50 to the component. I was expecting the index to push the VVVs up a point or so and it looks like we got half of it today.

The six-day moving average carcass weight was up again today at 211.49#. That is -2.49# yr/yr. Hog are growing well and it just might be that producers are not getting their hogs to market very fast although packers made a solid purchase on Friday. Today's kill at 419K IS on the weak side.
