I'm in the camp that we are in the final stages of the current downtrend that puts all previous downtrends to shame. How long it takes to get a retracement rally started and how much of a retracement we get is what I struggle with as I burn the midnight oil, mapping out potential battle plans for potential opportunities as the action/reaction drama plays out. It's funny, because I always think I've thought of every possible scenario, only to be surprised by the fact that the market is smarter than me. I don't know why I bother if it wasn't for my addiction to keep my mind busy with multi tasking problems to solve.

I also have to have my share of talking points for looking at all angles of the picture. I'm cursed with being a habitual contrarian, which is why I have never been a crowd follower which makes it difficult to mentally trade a trend much beyond the balance point boundries that all markets respect 80% of the time. We are in that 20% timeframe where the markets have lost all respect for boundries but in the process it is tweaking new boundries for us to figure out. In my busy schedule I have been forced to rely on the comfortable confines of FISHING which has proven to be my trading niche for minimum anxiety to keep the deposits maximizing my bank account.

I've gotten a bit bored with the hog markets same old story and having to complete the cycle into mid April. My cycles the first week in March pulled me back to focus on the feeder cattle market that I have not traded for a number of years. The parameters were set for sizable rewards and the cycle said it was time for a retracement rally so I put my focus there and I've been rewarded generously for my efforts. That 3 week cycle is about to end and I don't want to over stay my welcome to turn a good thing bad. I'm getting the itch to go back to a relaxing fishing trip with the hog market downtrend cycle nearing the completion stage at the same time a new seasonal should begin to set in. I have a second pair of short June cattle/long June hogs that I was forced to a counter leg of long Aug cattle for damage control since June hogs have marked the 72.00 target for a new low. May or may not happen but it has started a pattern that usually gets completed. Some times we have to shoot first and ask questions later.
